Today, Virtualization is the main topology of enterprise data centers, As multiple VM's need to be build in shot span, to save time Sys Admin do cloned the VM which has duplicate copy of SID for the VM from which it was cloned.
The duplicate SID value causes lot of issues so each machine must have unique SID value. Please follow the following steps to generate new SID in Windows Servers.
Log on to Windows Severs, Open Windows Explorer and go to C Drive and then Windows and then System32 and then Sysprep(C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep).
Right-click sysprep application and click Run as Administrator.
System Preparation tool will open after run sysprep. Choose Enter System Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) option, check Generalize option, choose Reboot as shutdown options and click OK.
After running System Preparation Tool new SID will be generated, tool will perform all the required actions and reboot the server.
After server reboot it will ask to accept license terms and also ask new administrator password to enter, You might need to enter the product key as well if needed. After login you need to change the Host name and IP address as old host name and ip address will changed automatically
the reboot, you will be asked to enter the product key (optional), accept License terms, and enter new Administrator password. You can then, login to the server and change Host name and IP address. In this way you can generate new SID.
